Unique “One Health” Tenure-track Faculty Job Position Offered at University of Florida (USA)   The University of Florida’s College of Public Health and Health Professions, Environmental and Global Health Department http://egh.phhp.ufl.edu, located in Gainesville, FL (USA) advertised (posted) a unique and visionary position on April 27, 2011. Gray, MD, MPH, FIDSA said, “we are hiring in support of our Emerging Pathogens Institute http://www.epi.ufi.edu/?q=841, zoonotic disease research, and One Health graduate training”.  Dr. Gray mentioned that “we have a PhD program now that I plan to adapt with a concentration in One Health.  A Masters of Health Science (MHS) pre-proposal is also under development.  Another possible idea we are considering for the future is having a program that awards a Certificate in One Health.”  He went on to say he hopes to attract students internationally.   Dr. Gray is Professor and Chair, Department of Environmental and Global Health, College of Public Health and Health Professions Professor, and Infectious Diseases and Pathology at the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine.  He also serves as Director of the Global Pathogens Laboratory at the Emerging Pathogens Institute (EPI) and said, “The Global Pathogens Laboratory of the Emerging Pathogens Institute conducts considerable research collaborations with U.S. and international veterinarians at the human-animal interface.”
