One Health in ACTION ...   “Conservation Through Public Health” (CTPH) Uganda Supports One Health   May 17, 2011--Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, BVM, MRCVS, Chief Executive Officer of Conservation through Public Health (CTPH) http://www.ctph.org/index.php from Kampala, Uganda notified the One Health Initiative website team today of CTPH’s strong “support of One Health and desire to develop some joint projects together.”   Dr. Kalema-Zikusoka said, “We have grassroots “One Health” programs in Uganda and DRC working closely with the government and local communities. Your website looks great and your mission and vision statements are similar to Conservation Through Public Healths, giving many opportunities for collaboration. On top of being a supporter of the One Health Initiative we would like to develop joint projects with you. We would also like to add you onto our website.”   A wildlife veterinarian, Dr. Kalema-Zikusoka, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CTPH, an international grassroots non-governmental organization (NGO), to promote conservation with public health by improving primary health services for people and animals around protected areas throughout Uganda.  She is also a recent recipient of the prestigious 2011 Women of Discovery Humanitarian Award http://explore.wingsworldquest.org/Gladys_Kalema-Zikusoka from Wings World Quest in New York (USA) on April 15, 2011.
