Exploring the relationship between animal health and farmer well-being in East & West Africa
Description
Livestock farming is a significant source of livelihood across Africa, accounting for 40% of agricultural GDP in Africa (Glatzel et al., 2020). It provides income and employment for millions, particularly in rural areas. Livestock farming profoundly impacts food security, holds cultural significance, can complement crop farming in mixed agricultural systems, and can serve as a resilient livelihood strategy, allowing for adaptation to variable climate conditions. Delve into the relationship between livestock health and farmers' livelihoods in East and West Africa. This session will feature insights from professionals working in this field. This webinar is ideal for agricultural professionals, policymakers, and anyone passionate about sustainable development in Africa. It will initiate a conversation on a One Health approach to understanding and supporting the connection between healthy animals and thriving farmers. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and contribute to meaningful change in East and West African agriculture.
