7th International Conference on Rabies in West Africa

7th RIWA Conference 3-6 May 2021 – 1st Announcement

On behalf of the Society for Rabies in West Africa (RIWA), it is my honour to invite you to the 7th International Conference on Rabies in West Africa which is scheduled as a virtual meeting from 3rd – 6th May, 2021.

This Conference provides opportunity for all stakeholders in the control of rabies (physicians, veterinarians, academia, local government officials, politicians, security agencies, and the general public) of member countries to meet each other and also with leading experts from around the world to deliberate on the theme, “Is the global goal of rabies elimination by 2030 achievable in Africa in general and West Africa in particular within the current landscape of policy and prevention strategies, complicated by COVID-19 pandemic?”.

In addition, participants will have the opportunity to discuss matters of common interest, and benefit from quality continuing education on Rabies. Post-conference activities are planned, including in-country mass anti-rabies campaign in Sierra Leone.

Kindly find attached herewith the announcement flier and call for abstract submission. Deadline for abstract submission is April 23, 2021. All country representatives should make efforts to obtain most current information on the progress made on SARE and rabies elimination in general in their various countries. Where there is no specific country representative, every member of RIWA should consider herself/himself eligible delegate to present available data for discussion.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference.

Respectfully,
