One Health Post Graduate Diploma and Post Graduate Certificate Courses Offered at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, India
"Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University now offers a Post Graduate Diploma in One health through technology enabled distance learning programmes in One Health. Notification for the course is available at the KVASU website www.kvasu.ac.in. (http://application.kvasu.ac.in/). The course is offered by the Centre for One Health Education, Advocacy, Research and Training (COHEART), a unique and pioneer educational attempt by the University on implementing the present day concept of One Health for the benefit of humanity and other living organisms.
The 35-credit hour Post Graduate Diploma programme is designed to provide One Health-specific exposure to human medicine, veterinary and environmental health professionals and students. The programme is designed to provide in depth training on One Health in a modular flexible format, ideal for health related professionals who wish to achieve a world- class award while maintaining busy professional and personal commitments. This course provides an overview of strategies for promoting health for all. Project work in 2nd semester enables students to have an exposure of One Health application Post Graduate Certificate in One health.
The University is also offering a Post Graduate Certificate in One Health programme. The purpose of the PG certificate course in One Health is the establishment for closer professional interactions, collaborations, and educational opportunities across the various health professionals. Students will gain the capacity and necessary expertise to work as a multidisciplinary team and to enhance their career opportunities in health related fields. The flexible online learning environment enables the student to learn at the times and locations that suit him/her the best. This course introduces One Health, a concept embedded in the philosophy of “co-existence” in which every other living being (and non-living beings like air, water and soil) influences the health of the fellow being.
