Special Advisor Minister to Prime Minister of Ethiopia Endorses One Health   On December 30, 2016, Dr. Laura H. Kahn [MD, MPH, MPP], a co-founder of the One Health Initiative team, received a One Health Endorsement letter from Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Minister and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.  Dr. Ghebreyesus has been endorsed by the African Union as a candidate for the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO).   Dear colleagues, In today’s increasingly interconnected world, public health emergencies can affect anyone, anywhere. The development of resilient and robust global and local health systems capable of preventing, detecting and responding to public health emergencies must therefore be a key priority. For these systems to be effective, it is critical to recognize that the health of people is connected to the health of animals and the environment. The global journey towards a safer and healthier world will be realized if we encourage collaborative efforts of multiple sectors and disciplines working locally, nationally, and globally-to achieve the best health for people, animals, and our environment. As a strong believer in the need for everyone to come together for a healthier world, it is my honor to express my support for the One Health Initiative and stand here as a champion of the “One Health” approach at all levels. A one health approach is not only the right thing to do but also it is the smartest investment to address the challenges of infectious disease.   Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (PhD) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tedros_Adhanom] Minister, Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Ethiopia African Union Endorsed Candidate for Director General of WHO
