Unleashing the Power of Comparative Oncology - Thursday, March 10th 2016 Carolyn J. Henry, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology), FNAP Professor of Oncology Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, College of Veterinary Medicine Associate Director of Research, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center One Health/One Medicine Faculty Facilitator for Mizzou Advantage, Office of the Provost University of Missouri, Columbia Co-Director, WAMCOH Dr. Henry earned her DVM at Auburn University in 1990, her MS from Auburn in 1993 and gained board certification in oncol-ogy in 1994. Dr. Henry served on the Washington State University faculty before relocating to the University of Missouri in 1997. She has served on the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Board of Regents and is past presi-dent of both the Veterinary Cancer Society and the ACVIM Specialty of Oncology. In April 2010, Henry was named Faculty Facilitator for the Mizzou Advantage One Health/One Medicine initiative by the Office of the Provost—a position that serves to foster multidisciplinary educational and research opportunities between hu-man and veterinary medicine and the basic sciences, both within the University of Missouri and with outside collaborators. Most recently Dr. Henry formed WAMCOH, a collaborative partnership with her veterinarian-scientist colleagues at WUSM and Auburn. The consortium’s mission is based on the emerging concept of “One Health,” focusing on the health linkages among humans, animals, and their shared environments.
